Self-Purification Day - 4 Right Action

By Jasmin G

This page is written summary of instructions that Author gives during her daily- ‘Free Online Forgiveness Sessions’. Motivated by Master Faith Sawey's, in her one of the most astonishing class 'Applied Spiritual Technology' (Manila, Philippines), Author started hosting this online sessions in September 2019, as a part of her service. Author learned this technique from her spiritual Guru, Master Choa Kok Sui of GMCKS Pranic Healing School. These instructions are a part of self-reflection practice guided by Author before practicing ‘Forgiveness Technique’. Every day, she focuses on particular aspect of self/ of life/ of behavior or of relationship, when we have ever hurt either ourselves or others.

Based on her own experiences and many previous researches, she believes regular self-reflection practice helps to be a better person.  And therefore, she highly recommends regular practice of this technique.

Greetings of the day!

Welcome to the Day 4 of Self-Purification Work out!

Right Action is the fourth lesson in the Eight-Fold Path given by Buddha. According to Buddha, right action is abstinence from killing, stealing and sexual misconduct. Buddha listed ‘right actions’ on the fourth number in the list, mostly because until and unless our understanding of knowledge is not right, we cannot create right intentions. Right intentions help us to speak rightly. And right speech together with right understanding and right intentions help us to act in the most rightful manner. This topic is very big, so today we will be focusing on very small aspect of first abstinence in right action, which is abstinence from killing a living being. When Buddha says killing a living being, it includes everything a human, animal kingdom and plant kingdom as well….

Then does it mean, even being vegetarian is not right? Absolutely not. As we discussed earlier, right action is the combination of right understanding, right intention and right speech together. so one has to practice abstinence from killing a living being, only if it not with right understanding and right intentions. It means if someone is killing a plant or animal to eat to survive or to protect the life, then it is right. Because intentions are good - he is unknowingly helping to save a life of greater, which is absolutely abstinence from killing. But if someone is killing a plant or animal just for taste or decoration or to show his ability, intentions are not holistic, they are influenced by their lower nature and therefore such actions are not right. To understand this equation of life, one should have practice, ‘Right Understanding.’

To survive to serve, one had to depend on life of its lower and it is righteous. This is the law of Nature. But it someone is taking a life of lower, to survive - not to serve but to live greedily, it is against the lesson of right actions. This may sound little bit difficult to understand. Understanding the right action and one’s life cycle, is one of the basic Fundamental of Bhagavad Gita. Again to neutralize our karma of killing lower kingdom (even though our intentions were right, killing it bad karma), one has to help that lower kingdom to grow, to multiply and shall appreciate their sacrifice to save us, by valuing the that food, by not wasting it or by using it properly. And this is the reason why we were taught to pray before cutting the crops, pray before cooking, pray before eating.

So, if we have ever let our self to be influenced by our lower nature to waste food, didn’t appreciated whatever we are eating, then let’s ask for forgiveness of our SELF and of that kingdom also for their sacrifice.
